This notice describes the cookies and similar client-side storage used by the Whispr Compliance Italy product. It exists to inform you; it does not create entitlements, warranties, or commitments beyond what is set out in the signed commercial documents.
A short, functional set used to keep the product working
We do not run cross-site advertising, behavioural profiling, or third-party tracking on the product surfaces.
Your browser settings remain the primary control surface
Disabling functional storage may affect login, language preference, or session continuity.
Whispr Compliance Italy is a separate product within the BackPR portfolio
Whispr Compliance Italy is one of multiple product lines operated under the BackPR umbrella (backpr.com). Each Whispr product is built, maintained, and supported by a distinct product team with its own roadmap, documentation, infrastructure scope, and operating boundaries. References to "Whispr", "we", or "our" in this notice apply only to the Whispr Compliance Italy product and its team. Other BackPR products, including the Whispr EDU product, have their own privacy, cookies, and trust materials.
The product uses a small set of functional and security-related browser storage
- Strictly necessary session storage: required for authenticated access to the administrative console and for the integrity of the reporter follow-up flow.
- Preference storage: remembers language selection and minor display preferences.
- Security signals: used to maintain authentication context, detect abuse, and protect against automated misuse.
- Billing-related cookies: set by Stripe only where billing functionality is active and the user reaches a checkout surface.
Strictly necessary storage does not require consent
Under the ePrivacy Directive and Italian Garante guidance, technical and strictly necessary cookies do not require prior consent because they are required to deliver the service the user has requested. Preference storage falls within the same rationale where it is used to remember the user's own deliberate selection (for example, language). If any non-essential cookie were ever introduced in the future, consent would be requested in line with applicable law before it is set. This notice is informational and does not waive, expand, or substitute for any signed agreement, statutory right, or regulatory obligation.
Browser-level controls remain the primary mechanism
Users can clear, disable, or block cookies and local storage through their browser settings. Disabling strictly necessary storage will prevent login, will likely break the reporter follow-up flow, and may render the administrative console unusable. The customer organisation, not Whispr, is responsible for educating its own users about browser behaviour and for any operational impact resulting from blocked storage.
This notice can change without prior notice
Cookie usage may evolve when functionality changes or when subprocessors update their own behaviour. We may update this notice at any time by publishing a new version at this URL. Continued use of the product after publication constitutes acknowledgement of the updated notice. Material changes affecting consent-based processing, if any, will be surfaced through the product before activation.
